You may officially recognise Brent Civic Centre as the greenest public building in the UK, through its BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ accreditation.
This prestigious project called for some high-quality curved formwork to accommodate the central core lift shafts and staircase walls. The formwork would incorporate a series of features running horizontally and vertically and correspond with elements in the columns and floor slabs.
Some non-standard storey heights further complicated the project. Special Formwork worked in close collaboration with both contractors and architects to produce the most efficient and practical method of forming the various structural elements.
