Ramsey Hall

Ramsay Hall, London. Part of the expansion of Ramsay Hall for the University of London called for tapered elliptical columns to be installed at an angle to support the upper floors that cantilevered over the existing basement.  Special collars were incorporated into the forms to allow the raking columns to remain supported after the forms were stripped until the structural beams that tied the whole structure together were cast.
